The Loop 303 Corridor Continues to Expand

The Loop 303 Corridor has been buzzing with commercial growth and activity for some time. As significant employers have set up operations and announced plans to move into this area, the residential real estate market has grown to meet the needs of the surrounding communities. As the state moves towards reopening, businesses continue to gravitate this direction, and the Loop 303 corridor continues to expand.

One of the Nation’s Largest Homebuilders Acquires 303 Land

According to a recent report, in June, Miami-based Lennar Homes paid $6 million to buy lots located at the southeast corner of Jackrabbit and Camelback Road. Lennar has been expanding their presence along the Surprise, Arizona Loop 303 Corridor for some time. With this recent land acquisition, it appears that Lennar is on its way to building more single-family homes to meet the needs of the area’s expanding population.

Love’s Truck Stop is Getting Closer

Recently, citizens in Glendale, Arizona, voiced opposition to the possibility of Love’s Truckstop being built just west of Loop 303 between Bethany Home Road and Glendale Avenue. Area residents did not want idling semi-trucks to create noise and pollution and for the truckstop to bring crime and traffic. However, the Glendale City Council voted 6-1 to rezone the proposed land, in part, to make way for the truck stop. This was the approval needed for Love’s to move forward.

The Loop 303 Corridor has experienced tremendous growth and develpment in recent years, becoming home to retail giants like Dick’s Sporting Goods, REI, and Chewy.com. Further, this area is the future manufacturing and bottling site for Ball, Red Bull, and White Claw Hard Selzer, as well as other companies. With all of the commercial development and activity in the area, Love’s became interested in developing a location near the site.

Some city council members were of the opinion that this kind of development is part of the area’s recent growth and has been coming for some time. Others in the community were dissatisfied with the councils’ decision, fearing that the addition of this type of business would change the character of the neighborhood.
